DATE: TO BE ANNOUNCED
Matthew Blain, son of Douglas Blain, spent his childhood holidays in Runaway Bay on the relaxed north coast of Jamaica. Alongside a life-long passion for the country he developed a keen interest in its most famous export – rum.
In January, he bottled the first batch of his premium Jamaican rum. A unique stock of 773 bottles, aged in the highest quality oak barrels for 11-14 years. The result is a limited edition Jamaican pot still rum of exceptional quality. A carefully crafted blend bringing together the output from the four greatest Jamaican distilleries.
Over the course of the evening Matthew will tell the story of Runaway Bay rum, from its inception on the veranda at Good Hope in Trelawny to a Lancashire bottling plant two years later, he’ll explain why Jamaican rum is the best in the world and what the future might hold for the sugar cane spirit.
There will be a remote guided tasting as part of the session. If you would like to take part, please do order a bottle before the session. They can be purchased through the Runaway Bay website. (N.B. Delivery is 3 working days.)
